Competent Person for Jobsite Safety Inspections

OSHA requires that employers on construction sites conduct safety inspections of job sites and require that a Competent Person, designated by the employer, be responsible for the completion of the inspections. More specifically a Competent Person is required to complete inspections of scaffolds, fall protection equipment and systems, trenches, confined spaces, and the list goes on.

Benefits of Attending:

  • When and how often to complete inspections
  • The connections between the General Contractor, Sub-contractor and the Competent Person
  • How does this general requirement for site inspections ties to more specific inspection requirements found in other standards
  • How inspections can be used to better manage safety
Who Should Attend: Anyone who has the potential to or has been identified by their employer to conduct worksite inspection
